IRRI joins ADB to celebrate World Food Day
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) celebrated World Food Day 2012 at its headquarters in Manila during a 2-day food bazaar and exhibition this week (15-16 October). According to WooChong Um, ADB's deputy director general for Regional and Sustainable Development, the event raised awareness on food security, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture. Read more »

IRRI Toastmasters Club receives distinction
Another laurel was added to the IRRI Toastmasters Club (IRRI TMC) cap with an award given to Joel Janiya, IRRI scientist, as governor of TM Area 78—where IRRI TM Club belongs—which was recognized as a Distinguished Area. IRRI TMC has consistently contributed to developing leaders and communicators and is recognized yearly by TM International. One of IRRI TMC's current projects is Speechcraft and is being conducted for 17 members of the Association of Fellows, Scholars, Trainees, and Residents in IRRI, or AFSTRI.

Suhay will hold a Charity Used Books and Magazines Sale on Wednesday, 17 October 2012, 0830-1600 H, at the Breezeway of Harrar Hall, IRRI.
